Abstract

Dental caries is a condition in which the teeth begin to become porous and have cavities caused by Streptococcus mutans bacteria. These Gram-positive bacteria are capable of demineralizing the enamel on teeth. The use of toothpaste with a composition of fluoride and sodium lauryl sulphate can damage teeth. Instead of preventing dental caries, you can use natural ingredients, namely green tea (Camellia sinensis) because it is easily available and has an antibacterial effect. Community service activities in the form of counseling, mentoring, and field practice will be carried out by involving community organizations to increase the knowledge and benefits of green tea. This activity showed an increase in knowledge of 28.18% about the benefits of green tea during the activity and the product produced was herbal toothpaste with natural green tea ingredients.
