Abstract

Warga binaan pada lembaga pemasyarakatan merupakan kelompok yang sangat rentan terhadap berbagai permasalahan, mulai dari permasalahan sosial, fisik, maupun mental. Salah satu bahaya kesehatan yang kerap terjadi di lembaga pemasyarakatan adalah bahaya terinfeksi penyakit menular seksual (PMS), hal ini berkaitan dengan riwayat terdahulu warga binaan terkait aktivitas seksualnya. Kejadian penyimpangan seksual juga tidak dapat dihindari dan meningkatkan resiko terjadinya PMS. Sehingga kegiatan ini ditujukan untuk mengedukasi warga binaan Lapas Kelas IIA Way Hui Bandar Lampung guna meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka terkait PMS. Metode edukasi dilakukan dengan ceramah dan diskusi. Peserta berjumlah 62 orang dengan demografi yang berbeda-beda dan sejumlah 13% warga binaan memiliki riwayat PMS. Melalui kegiatan edukasi diperoleh perubahan yang signifikan terkait tingkat pengetahuan warga binaan dari mayoritas mendapat skor 5 (24%) menjadi 10 (61%) dengan nilai p0.00<0.05. Melalui hasil dapat disimpulkan bahwa intervensi edukasi mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan warga binaan terhadap masalah PMS.

 

Inmates in correctional institutions are vulnerable to the wide range social, physical, and mental health issues. One of the health risks that frequently happens in correctional institutions is the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), which is tied to the inmates' prior history of sexual behavior. Sexual aberrations are unavoidable and raise the danger of STIs. As a result, the aim of this program is to educate women inmates of the Way Hui Class IIA Correctional Facility in Bandar Lampung about PMS. Lectures and thorough discussions were used as the method. There were 62 participants from various demographics, with 13% of the inmates having history of STIs. Significant changes in the inmates’ level of knowledge were obtained after education intervention from the majority receiving a score of 5 (24%) to 10 (61%) with a value of p 0.00<0.05. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that given educational intervention can improve inmates’ knowledge of STIs.
